Since January 2021, Dominique Dupuy has been the Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Haiti to UNESCO. Responsible for the submission and subsequent inscription of Soup Joumou, the first element of Haitian intangible cultural heritage on the UNESCO registry, she has initiated or led numerous projects that have elevated Haitian dignity internationally. These include the inauguration of the first Haitian university chairs associated with UNESCO, the recognition of Haitians who have contributed to humanity, the promotion of linguistic rights for Creole speakers, the historic negotiation of the United States' return as a UNESCO member state, and her election to the vice-presidency of UNESCO's Executive Board and recently to the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Dominique Dupuy's résumé, received by Le Nouvelliste following her nomination to Conille's government, is impressive. A native of Cap-Haïtien, she is fluent in French, Creole, English, and Spanish.
