During his official trip to the United States, Prime Minister Garry Conille held a meeting at the Haitian Embassy in Washington to address passport issues. The Prime Minister met with Haiti's Ambassador to Washington, Louis Harold Joseph, the passport unit's officials, Foreign Affairs Minister Dominique Dupuy, and Engineer Jean Osselin Lambert from the Immigration Service.

In an interview with the media, the Prime Minister explained that the meeting aimed to address the thousands of passport requests. "We are taking measures to address the urgency. There is a staffing issue. Starting next week, we will sign the appointment letters for new employees. We hope to catch up. In the long term, we will further modernize and digitize this service in all our consulates and embassies," he stated, also announcing steps to prevent the misappropriation of passport application fees.
