U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded his one-day visit to Port-au-Prince with a press conference at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport diplomatic lounge. Blinken reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Haiti. As one of the architects of the current dual-executive system, consisting of a presidential council and a prime minister, Blinken expressed gratitude to CARICOM leaders and regional and Haitian actors who have supported efforts to resolve the crisis and facilitate a transition backed by Haitians.

"Since then, Haitians have established a transitional presidential council and a government led by a prime minister. We are seeing the institutions moving forward to work for the benefit of the Haitian people. The United States appreciates the commitment of Haitian leaders to work together to guide the country towards free and democratic elections," Blinken said.
