On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Le Nouvelliste received a visit from a delegation of the Constitutional Working Group, comprising coordinator Jerry Tardieu, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economics Eugène Pierre Louis, and President of the Port-au-Prince Bar Association, Lawyer Patrick Pierre-Louis. The members of this working group, formed by the steering committee of the National Conference, met with Le Nouvelliste’s general director, Max Chauvet, and editor-in-chief, Frantz Duval, before giving an interview.

According to Jerry Tardieu, this group will work independently on revising the Constitution. Their approach aims for threefold legitimacy: professional legitimacy, by consulting experts with the necessary skills to draft an initial proposal; national sectoral legitimacy, by engaging various societal groups in discussions; and popular legitimacy, achieved through a public vote.
