On Tuesday, the Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours Church in Delmas 75 became a sanctuary of tears and tributes. The funeral of Jeff Petit-Dieu, an agent of the elite SWAT unit, was held in the presence of his family, friends, fellow officers, and hundreds of Solino residents. This spirited police officer, hailed as the vanguard of Solino’s resistance against the repeated assaults of the criminal coalition “Viv Ansanm,” lost his life on November 12 during a confrontation.
Even in death, as he lay motionless in his coffin, "Jeff SWAT," as he was affectionately known, remained the hero of Solino. At the church, women, children, and youth wept for his loss. "Thank you, Jeff. Thank you for everything you did for us in Solino," sobbed one woman. The neighborhood mourns not only a protector but also a son and a role model.
