In an open letter sent on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, to the Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT), the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de l’Ouest (CCIO) raised its voice against the authorities’ inaction in countering the actions of criminal groups.
“We cannot accept the unacceptable. These serious and troubling tragedies, which have cost the lives of thousands of innocents, defy understanding. To the massacres of Wharf Jérémie, Solino, Poste Marchand, Bel-Air, to name just a few, are added all the massacres committed throughout the country, including that of Pont-Sondé in the Artibonite and the massacre of Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite, which bear witness to unspeakable and unbearable violence,” writes the CCIO in this open letter to the CPT.
