Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé has instructed Minister of Culture Patrick Delatour to cancel the National Carnival, which was scheduled to take place in Fort-Liberté this year. This information was revealed by a source close to the Prime Minister to Le Nouvelliste.

"There will be no National Carnival in Fort-Liberté. The government will not fund these festivities. The current context does not allow for it," the source told Le Nouvelliste.
