While the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince is engulfed in violence and criminal groups continue to seize more territory, the Presidential Council (CPT), the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) remain unable to coordinate their actions. The CPT and the head of government are divided over whether to retain Rameau Normil as head of the PNH. The latter did not attend a special Conseil Supérieur de la Police Nationale (CSPN) meeting with CPT members on Friday.

"We are working on a plan to reclaim certain territories occupied by armed groups and to protect others that they seek to invade," a CPT member told Le Nouvelliste, noting that a Council of Ministers and a CSPN meeting were held on Friday for this purpose.
