The Presidential Council answers to no one. There is total opacity in the management of public funds. Although they were not elected, did not lead a revolution, and enjoy neither a legal basis for legitimacy nor public support, the nine members of the Presidential Council see themselves as presidents of the Republic. Accordingly, they grant themselves all the privileges and benefits of a head of state.
The Presidential Council and the Prime Minister’s Office deliberately dip into public funds to grant themselves every kind of advantage and privilege. They decide on their own what benefits they want and the amounts associated with them.
