The administration of President Donald Trump has appointed a new chargé d’affaires with the rank of ambassador to Haiti.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the replacement of Ambassador Dennis B. Hankins by Ambassador Henry T. Wooster to lead the U.S. mission in Haiti.
