It was at the premises of the Court of Cassation at the Champ de Mars that the president of said Court officially launched, on Monday, October 6, the resumption of judicial activities for the 2025–2026 year throughout Haitian territory. President Jean Joseph Lebrun sat with nine other judges of the Court and the public prosecutor’s office, headed by Government Commissioner Carvès Jean, assisted by the chief clerk, Pierre-Richard Allonce.

The Court ordered the reopening of the judicial year after a difficult period in terms of justice delivery. “Have confidence in your justice,” urged Court President Jean Joseph Lebrun to the Haitian population.
