Dressed mostly in white, holding Haitian flags and placards aloft, thousands of citizens took to the streets of Delmas on Saturday, January 3, 2025, for a citizens’ march initiated by religious leaders in support of peace, unity, and national solidarity. Rare for its interfaith character, the mobilization brought together representatives of Vodou and Protestantism around a shared message: to put an end to the spiral of violence eating away at the country.

Houngans and mambos from several parts of the country marched alongside Protestant religious figures, notably Pastors Marco, André Muscadin, and Gérard Forges, as well as Prophet Mackenson Dorilas. All expressed their conviction that reconciliation among the different components of Haitian society is an essential prerequisite for any prospect of national recovery.
