At the conclusion of the interdepartmental GenTech 3D modeling competition, three universities won the top prizes: Université Lumière des Cayes, the Public University of Grand'Anse, and GOC University. Université Lumière des Cayes was represented by students Brisius Ernso, Cazeau Stherlaugh, and Thanis Duel; the Public University of Grand'Anse by Frednel Félix, Kervens Jean, and Douillon Florana, who was absent from the ceremony; and GOC University by Siméon Laura, John Christopher Sagesse, and Saint Louis Prince Dugarry.
The awards ceremony took place on June 30 at the El Rancho Hotel in Pétion-Ville under the theme "Building the Future: Technology in the Service of Safe Construction." Organized by UNESCO in partnership with the MTPTC and the Adaptation Fund, the competition brought together university students from five departments across the country: the West, South, Grand'Anse, Artibonite, and North. Participants were invited to design digital models incorporating criteria for innovation, safety—particularly earthquake-resistant standards—and sustainability in the face of climate change. The winners received prizes including 3D printers, tablets, certificates of honor and merit, laptop computers, and medals.
