The president of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) provided an update on the progress of the voter registration process. Appearing on Magik 9 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Jacques Desrosiers indicated that the process, which began on July 20 in nine departments and on July 30 in the West Department, is progressing fairly well.

“As of Monday, August 3, 870 centers, representing more than half of the registration centers, were operating normally throughout the country. On Monday alone, 13,000 voters were registered,” the CEP president revealed, announcing that the electoral institution would continue opening additional registration centers.
