After Federal Judge Ana C. Reyes was forced to lift the suspension that had maintained Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian immigrants in Florida and other states, Guerline Jozef of the Haitian Bridge Alliance renewed her call on the government to seek a moratorium on the deportation of Haitians.

“The Haitian government has the means to advocate for protection for Haitians facing difficulties in the United States. Haitian authorities must play their part by explaining to the U.S. government that, for the time being, they do not have the capacity to receive 350,000 Haitians in Haiti and that they cannot guarantee their safety,” Guerline Jozef said on Magik 9 radio on Friday, August 7, 2026.
