The Minister of Public Works, Transportation and Communications (TPTC), Joseph Almathe Pierre-Louis, conducted an assessment tour from August 6 to 9 in the South and Grand’Anse departments. The mission was aimed at evaluating the condition of road infrastructure and coastal protection works, identifying the most vulnerable areas, and determining the interventions that could be carried out in the short term, particularly in preparation for the upcoming elections.

From Dame-Marie to Tiburon, passing through Port-Salut and Les Cayes, the minister and his delegation inspected several roadways, bridges and structures exposed to erosion and bad weather. The mission was also intended to gather the concerns of local authorities and assess the accessibility of certain areas expected to host voting centers.
