"The story of the film Abandone is taken from the music of King Posse, which itself was inspired by a true story", says director and former King Posse maestro Hans Roc. The film, he continues, "is about two university students, Carel and Amandine, of different social classes, meeting and falling madly in love with each other. However, along the way, their relationship comes up against an obstacle: one wants to engage in protected sexual activity, while the other doesn't see things the same way. The film is about young people's behavior, their choices today and the consequences for the future," explains the film's screenwriter and director.
"Abandone" is a comedy-drama feature, lasting about an hour and 44 minutes, involving some ten actors and sixty extras. According to Mr. Roc, the film technically showcases positive images of the country, enough to revive nostalgia for the Haiti of the past. These images, he believes, evoke memories of the good old days, allowing us to rediscover certain regions of the country, as well as the hit music of King Posse.
