In the wake of joint efforts by the Ministries of Public Health and Population, and National Education and Vocational Training to support medical faculties in the accreditation process, a period of silence has followed. Since April 25, 2023, there have been no major announcements. Three universities had skipped the last meeting of the sectoral ministries. To date, no further initiatives from the universities involved in the accreditation process have been announced.

Behind the scenes, the involved ministries suspect certain medical faculties of seeking to evade regulation at the expense of the students. On the other hand, some medical faculties criticize the two ministries for engaging in a recovery process without a plan or accompanying budget. 2024 marks the deadline for this process. The invalidation by the ECFMG of graduates from non-accredited medical faculties is just a few months away. When it comes to aligning interests, whatever needs to happen will happen. Everyone will be a loser.
