"We want discriminatory practices to cease. Authorities tend to forget that the Haitian judiciary is a bird with two wings: the seated magistrates and the upright magistrates. We enjoy the same rights as the seated magistrates," argued Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Croix-des-Bouquets, Attorney Carl Giovanni Aubourg.
Attorney Aubourg, the spokesperson for COMADH, took the opportunity to recall the requirements set by the law creating the judiciary and its articles on the composition of the judiciary and the ranks. "We are subject to the same principles as the seated magistrates. Authorities refuse to respect the laws," lamented the magistrate, reached by phone.
