CARICOM still holds hope of securing a political agreement between the "plural" opposition, the government, and civil society organizations, all key players in the crisis. The mission is challenging, if not seemingly impossible, given the seemingly irreconcilable positions of the numerous parties involved in the talks. CARICOM's renewed mission in the country this week suggests that the hemispheric organization remains confident that the positions of the stakeholders can move in the right direction.

There is still no evidence that CARICOM will achieve its goal. It is unknown if the CARICOM Eminent Persons Group has set a deadline, and it's also unclear if they have a secret strategy to secure the desired agreement.
