Michel Patrick Boisvert, the former Minister of Economy and Finance, did not spend much time reflecting on his tenure at the head of the institution. During the past four years, significant work has been accomplished under his leadership. He did not hesitate to express some self-satisfaction while praising his collaborators, without whom he would not have been able to drive so many reforms within the MEF. He emphasized that this institution plays a crucial role in coordinating and implementing the country's public policies.

"Despite years of political, health, security, and humanitarian crises, we have made significant efforts to implement reforms aimed at strengthening the governance framework within the MEF," the former minister proudly stated. Among other achievements, he cited the strengthening of public procurement processes, improvement of regulatory frameworks in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, drastic reduction of subsidies, establishment of a multi-annual budget framework, development of an expenditure commitment plan, a procurement forecast plan, reduction of monetary financing, increase of domestic resources particularly through higher customs revenues, rationalization of public spending, and strengthening transparency in control and anti-corruption efforts, as well as improving the national social protection system.
