One of the primary missions of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) and the Conille government is to organize free and transparent elections to transfer power to legitimate authorities by early 2026. The TPC is already focusing on forming the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), which will bear the significant responsibility of organizing Haiti’s first elections since 2017.

The formation of the CEP itself appears to be a challenge. The sectors selected to appoint members to the CEP were supposed to submit their representative names to the TPC by mid-July. However, the vast majority of sectors have yet to submit a representative. These sectors, which should be at the forefront of helping society address its issues, are struggling to agree on a suitable candidate.
