On August 15, Prime Minister Garry Conille met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss the political transition process, the security crisis, and the humanitarian situation affecting Haiti. This meeting also provided an opportunity for Conille to talk with Trudeau about the international community's support for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office on August 19, 2024.

"Prime Minister Trudeau expressed satisfaction with the initial measures taken by the government under Prime Minister Conille's leadership in managing the current global crisis in Haiti and assured Canada’s support for Haiti’s successful transition and the organization of credible, transparent, and democratic elections to renew the country’s political leadership," the statement read.
