U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols, stated that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken would address the corruption scandal involving three members of the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) during his visit to Haiti on Thursday, September 5. Nichols urged Haitian authorities to hold those involved accountable.

"I believe the Secretary of State will certainly emphasize the importance of transparency and the rule of law in handling the corruption allegations that have surfaced in the BNC [Banque Nationale de Crédit] case. We think Haitian authorities should investigate this matter and hold those responsible accountable, and I'm confident the Secretary of State will raise this issue during his visit," Brian A. Nichols said.
