The Haitian government, supported by international partners including the IDB, the World Bank, and the European Union, has taken the lead in assessing the impact of the multifaceted crisis Haiti has faced since 2021, with the goal of developing a well-coordinated internal and external investment plan, Le Nouvelliste has learned.
"We insisted that the Haitian government lead the process. When we arrived, we found agreement on how to conduct this assessment. We defined the modalities to ensure full government participation. We are conducting an analysis that will lead to an investment plan. This work has been done in collaboration with international partners. We wanted unbiased figures so that, when we sit at the donors' table, it is clear that this is an objective assessment," Minister of Economy and Finance Ketleen Florestal told the newspaper on the sidelines of her speech at a conference on Haiti's development at the IDB on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
