The United States organized an event to showcase the progress made in restoring security in Haiti and to encourage other partners to bolster the international effort. Without further assistance, this fight is “far from being won.”
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, hosted the event on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly. During the event, they highlighted the achievements of the Haitian National Police (PNH) in restoring security with the support of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS), led by Kenya since September 25, 2024, according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Haiti.
