Five years later, the investigation into the murder of journalist Néhémie Joseph has made little progress, despite an order issued by investigating judge Edwige Dorsainvil earlier in 2024.

The defense attorneys filed an appeal against Judge Dorsainvil’s order, which had outlined sufficient charges and evidence against former senator Rony Célestin, former mayor of the commune Lochard Laguerre, and the individuals Juste Chandou Clerjeune, Elionel Casséus, Angelina Fabiola Cameau, Douyon Rosevald, Lenel (known by this name), and Hugens Charles, citing their involvement as perpetrators, intellectual authors, and accomplices in the murder of journalist Néhémie Joseph.
