The IMF directors “urge” the Haitian authorities “to strengthen the measures already taken to improve the quality, efficiency, and transparency of public spending, calling on them to continue the careful review and prompt audit of the resources provided through the IMF's ‘food shock window’,” according to the communication of the results of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultations with Haiti on December 10, 2024.

The IMF’s Executive Board had approved on January 23, 2023, a disbursement of 81.9 million SDR (105 million USD) under the ‘food shock window’ of the Rapid Credit Facility to help Haiti meet urgent balance-of-payments needs resulting from the global food crisis.
