"The Government of the Republic of Haiti condemns in the strongest possible terms the heinous armed attack perpetrated against Bernard Mevs Hospital, located in Village Solidarité (Airport Road). This act of violence, targeting an institution vital to the population, constitutes a serious violation of human dignity, national security, and the fundamental right to health," the Prime Minister's Office wrote in a statement. It also reminded: "Bernard Mevs Hospital is a pillar of our health system, committed to fighting the leading causes of preventable mortality in the country, including trauma, heart attacks, strokes, burns, and maternal emergencies. Attacking such a symbol of life strikes at the very foundations of our nation."

"In response to this unacceptable assault, the Government expresses its full solidarity with the hospital staff and affected patients. It also commends the exemplary responsiveness of the Haitian National Police (PNH), who repelled the attackers and restored order with professionalism and courage," the statement continued.
