"Everybody screammmmm!" This seemingly simple phrase captures the atmosphere that dominated UBS Arena on Friday night. Imagine 19,000 people of different generations shouting, jumping, and having the time of their lives to the rhythm of their favorite artists’ songs. It’s hard to fathom, right? Yet, this was the reality of Carimi’s second reunion concert. For one evening, Carlo, Richard, and Mickael revisited the hits that made their group iconic, giving the audience a chance to create unforgettable memories while engraving the Konpa rhythm in gold among the greats.
As the arena filled and the musicians and organizers spoke to the press backstage, DJ Stakz energized the crowd. Dressed to impress and ready for a good time, the audience immediately got into the spirit of the event. The concert was a celebration—of Haitian music, of Carimi, and of Mikaben’s legacy. The crowd understood the concept perfectly. At 9:30 p.m., the intro visuals for Carimi’s performance began, accompanied by a wave of cheers blending excitement, hope, and pride. “Carimi, Carimi, Carimi!” the audience chanted as the trio appeared, kicking off the show with “We the Best”—a fitting reminder of their exceptional repertoire and the magnitude of the night’s achievement.
