Jocelyn Villier, Director General of the National Port Authority (APN), provided details on preparations for the inauguration of the Saint-Louis du Sud port, scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2024, in the Dumesle Bay area. "The Southern Port has received unanimous approval from its board of directors, which includes representatives from the Ministries of Economy and Finance, Planning and External Cooperation, Public Works, Transportation and Communications, Commerce and Industry, the APN Directorate, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They all voted unanimously in favor of the port’s opening. An agreement will be signed this Friday to manage its operations," Jocelyn Villier announced during an interview on Radio Magik 9 on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
"This agreement will mark the start of cabotage and bulk operations at the Southern Port. The port will also have the capacity to sign contracts with partners for liquid bulk and other activities," revealed the APN Director General, noting that this inauguration is a step forward in the decentralization of port activities, a long-standing objective.
