"The Haitian Ports Association (APHA) wishes to express its deep satisfaction and support for the recent decision by the Haitian government to facilitate the opening and operationalization of the 'Port of Saint-Louis,' a member of the APHA. This initiative represents a significant step toward revitalizing the port sector, decentralizing development, and strengthening the national economy," reads a press release from the association dated January 23, 2025.

"By committing to a coastal development policy, the government is sending a strong signal in favor of modernizing infrastructure, fostering free competition, and improving the competitiveness of port facilities," the APHA emphasized.
