The Haitian National Police (PNH) announced that "five criminals were fatally wounded and five weapons were seized" on Monday, February 24, during clashes between police officers and criminals attempting to advance from Gressier toward Léogâne. These operations were carried out by the specialized UTAG and SWAT units in the locality of Lassalle (Gressier), according to a statement published on the institution's Facebook page.

"The National Police is maintaining its security measures by reinforcing the police presence at the Léogâne police station with specialized units. In this regard, operations and interventions against gangs will continue," reads the statement, which also urges the population to continue cooperating with the PNH.
