On March 18, 2025, private sector associations in Haiti gathered at the Karibe Hotel, invited by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). This preparatory meeting focused on the Rapid Crisis Impact Assessment (RCIA) and was also aimed at preparing for Haiti Day and the Donors’ Roundtable scheduled for April 22 in Washington.

During the discussions, security issues dominated the exchanges. Private sector representatives expressed significant concern over the ongoing deterioration of security in the country. They highlighted that many businesses are closing their doors due to the growing insecurity, jeopardizing economic activities and employment.
