Eleven days after taking office as President of the CPT, economist Fritz Alphonse Jean, one of the leaders who had promised a "war budget," embarked on a tour that some describe as a "leisurely excursion," while Port-au-Prince sinks under the terror of armed gangs.
The new CPT president took advantage of a gala organized by the regional carnival committee on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Fort-Liberté to emphasize the "importance of resilience and determination" in the face of Haiti’s ongoing crisis. Fritz Alphonse Jean urged the public to see the regional carnival as a symbol of unity and craftsmanship, one that could contribute to finding solutions to the current crisis.
