The President of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, expressed his full support for the Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Normil Rameau. He emphasized the importance of the unified command between the PNH and the Multinational Security Support force (MMAS), and indicated that the task force created by the Prime Minister’s Office “is working within the PNH.” “That situation has been calm for quite some time,” Jean responded when asked by Le Nouvelliste about changes within the PNH.

The current president of the CPT stated that he held the meeting with the heads of the police, the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H), and the MMAS to determine how the unified command “can soon carry out coordinated actions to contain the violence. We also discussed the means to support these actions,” he added, informing that the war budget will be finalized shortly.
