At the head of a Haitian delegation currently in Washington, D.C. for the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF) Alfred Fils Métellus met on Monday, April 21, 2025, with the President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn. At the conclusion of this meeting, the agreement on the Medium-Term Recovery and Development Plan for 2025–2030 was formalized in a joint declaration signed by the Haitian finance minister and the IDB president.

"Haiti is at a crucial moment, and this partnership is essential to chart a sustainable path for our country. By prioritizing regional investments and promoting territorial economic development, we can foster stability and create new opportunities across the country, benefiting all Haitians," declared Alfred Fils Métellus during the signing of the agreement.
