The Association of Petroleum Professionals (APPE), through a letter, alerted Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé about the "imminent risk of a complete paralysis of the petroleum sector" and the Haitian economy due to the "widespread surge in insecurity," Le Nouvelliste learned on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
"Despite our continued efforts and our commitment to maintaining fuel supply at all costs to support the national economy, our resources and operational capacity have now reached their limits. We are now forced to alert on the imminent risk of a complete paralysis of the petroleum sector, consequently leading to a widespread shutdown of the Haitian economy," wrote the APPE, appealing to the Haitian State.
