A glimmer of hope shines at Justinien University Hospital (HUJ) in Cap-Haïtien. Following the visit of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) president, a firm promise was made: the rehabilitation of the emergency department and the operating room is now on the agenda.
The hospital's director, Dr. Turenne Calil, praised the efforts of the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Sinal Bertrand, for his commitment to strengthening health institutions, particularly HUJ. "Justinien University Hospital should be completely rebuilt, but due to a lack of funds, we are proceeding in stages, with targeted restructuring," he explained.
