From March 7 to Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Presidential Council held only two Council of Ministers meetings. Why? Because “the Council of Ministers should be a space to address structural problems to change the country... not to appoint incompetent directors general... I said no to hundreds of diplomatic appointments...,” said Fritz Alphonse Jean, Coordinator of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), in an interview with Le Nouvelliste.
After more than 13 months of stability and mutual indulgence, a rift appears to be emerging within the Haitian executive branch. Since assuming the leadership of the CPT, Fritz Alphonse Jean has held only two Council of Ministers meetings. While Le Nouvelliste has learned that the CPT coordinator has had considerable difficulty organizing such meetings, Mr. Jean, in an exclusive interview on Saturday, June 7, stated that it was his own decision not to hold them.
