In an interview with Le Nouvelliste on Saturday, June 7, 2025, the third president of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, acknowledged that the Haitian executive branch is at a standstill.
Confirming persistent rumors, the economist admitted that for weeks there has been no Council of Ministers meeting. Disagreements, conflicting interests, denunciations, and resentment are undermining the promise of a transitional break. The country is being drained by a multitude of leaders and their infighting, ego clashes, pursuit of self-interest, and the ongoing scandals generated by their actions and behavior, which overshadow the suffering of thousands crushed by poverty and violence. For weeks now, the presidential advisors have only made headlines for the wrong reasons.
