With 30 years of service in the Haitian judiciary, Franzi Philémon, a trainer at the Judicial School and a university professor, has sat as a judge at the Court of Cassation since 2012. He served for two years as Chief Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation before applying for the position of judge in the Senate of the Republic. It was a first for Franzi Philémon, who had never before served as a judge. Upon arriving at the Court, he was struck by the fact that the government commissioner did not plead there, which motivated him to take a new direction in his career.
Franzi Philémon never sought the spotlight, even when he was Vice President of the CSPJ, elected by his fellow judges at the Court. At that time, in the president’s absence, he skillfully and calmly assumed leadership of the institution.
