The FHF confirmed the withdrawal of both youth national teams from the Concacaf tournaments. “The FHF finds itself obliged to forgo Haiti’s participation in two Concacaf competitions: the U-15 Women’s Championship, scheduled to take place in Costa Rica from August 2 to 10, 2025, and the U-14 Boys’ Championship, planned for Trinidad & Tobago from August 15 to 24,” the Federation stated.
“This decision, as difficult as it is regrettable, stems from major logistical constraints completely beyond the Federation’s control, which currently make international travel extremely complex. Among the main obstacles: the prolonged closure of the Haitian-Dominican border, which prevents any land or air transit through the Dominican Republic; the unavailability of U.S. and Panamanian consular services in Haiti, blocking the issuance of necessary transit visas; the impossibility of chartering a flight from Haiti due to the unavailability of aircraft from Sunrise Airways, the only local airline currently operating; and the unstable security situation, which makes it difficult for delegations to travel to the airport or any other departure point,” the FHF explained, while stressing that Haiti will fulfill its upcoming commitments for the other national teams.
