While traveling in the North-East at the time of the events, Fritz Alphonse Jean did not attend the installation ceremony, on Friday, August 8, of the new head of the HNP, Vladimir Paraison—a notable absence. He was also not present at the Council of Ministers meeting that ratified the decision a few hours earlier.
Fritz Alphonse Jean explained that the day after handing over the coordination of the CPT to Laurent Saint-Cyr, he took a helicopter to his family home in Sainte-Suzanne. This trip, he said, was both a moment of reflection and part of the celebrations for the commune’s anniversary, as well as an opportunity to assess local needs. “I came to share this moment with the population and see what can be done in the region to improve living conditions,” he specified.
