The American noose is tightening around Jimmy Chérizier, alias “Barbecue,” 48, leader of the terrorist organization Viv Ansanm. Officially indicted—alongside Bazile Richardson, a Haitian American—for conspiracy to transfer funds from the United States to finance criminal activities in Haiti, Chérizier is now the subject of an FBI wanted notice offering a $5 million reward for any information leading to his arrest and conviction.
“A grand jury indictment was unsealed today in U.S. federal court charging Jimmy Chérizier, aka Barbecue, 48, of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Bazile Richardson, aka Fredo, Fred Lion, Leo Danger, and Lepe Blode, 48, a naturalized U.S. citizen, with leading a conspiracy to transfer funds from the United States to Chérizier in order to finance his criminal activities in Haiti, in violation of U.S. sanctions imposed on Chérizier. Chérizier is a fugitive believed to be in Haiti. Richardson was arrested on July 23 in Pasadena, Texas, and is scheduled to appear today in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia,” the U.S. Department of Justice stated in a press release on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
