The Haitian State is working on a draft contract, not yet signed, with Evergreen Trading System Limited for a duration of 10 years, requiring a total investment of several hundred million dollars for the implementation of its various components, within the framework of the modernization of customs and border services, Le Nouvelliste has learned from a high-ranking Haitian government source.
In no case does this project aim to replace the General Administration of Customs, the Immigration Service, or the Border Police (Polifront), insists the government source well informed about the project. “Our customs officers, immigration agents, and police officers will handle control and the collection of resources and information. They will be supported by the firm,” explained the senior official, who wished to remain anonymous.
