In a context where most commercial activities are concentrated in the communes of Delmas and Pétion-Ville due to the forced displacement of populations from downtown, road maintenance becomes more than necessary to facilitate citizens’ mobility. Yet this aspect seems to escape the attention of state authorities who drive on these same roads daily with sirens blaring.
The dilapidated state of our roads is one of the factors that leads to traffic jams and accidents on public roads. This situation is visible even on routes heavily used by motorists. At the Bourdon intersection leading to Delmas 40b, a major passageway for drivers, part of the pavement is broken. Motorists struggle to find a way through, creating traffic jams all day long in this section of the road.
