With three months left in the year, neither the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) nor the Presidential Council has yet been able to set a date for the organization of the referendum and elections. In the meantime, the CEP has held an internal election to change the members of its bureau.

Jacques Desrosiers, who, according to the decree appointing the members of the CEP, is the representative of the press, becomes the president of the electoral institution, replacing Patrick Saint-Hilaire. Jaccéus Joseph, representative of peasant associations, was elected vice president; Peterson Pierre-Louis, representative of the reformed churches, becomes secretary; and Nemrod Sanon, representative of the trade union sector, treasurer, several sources at the CEP told Le Nouvelliste.
