U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, after welcoming the UN Security Council resolution, stated that the United States “will work closely with the other members of the Standing Group of Partners to ensure the rapid deployment of the Gang Suppression Force,” in a communiqué issued Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

“The United States welcomes the adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution that provides for the transition of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) into a Gang Suppression Force (GSF) and authorizes the establishment of a United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH),” the communiqué from Secretary of State Rubio said.
