Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé attended the opening of the judicial year on Monday, October 6, 2025, alongside other state officials, including Presidential Councilors Leslie Voltaire, Edgar Leblanc Fils, Smith Augustin, and Emmanuel Vertilaire. The ceremony was held at the premises of the Court of Cassation, at the Champ de Mars — the first time in months.

The choice of location was no coincidence. Like several ministries located nearby, the premises of the country’s highest judicial authority had been closed for several months due to the fragile security situation prevailing in the capital. After some rehabilitation work, the Court’s doors reopened to welcome judges and other members of the judicial system, as well as political figures, for the resumption of judicial activities.
